Notes on the Media in Guyana: A Collection of Essays

 

Notes on the Media in Guyana is a collection of scholarly essays which attempt to analyze the state of Guyana through the lens of media history and media effects. The articles which represent primary research conducted by the author over the past 15 years offer a fascinating view of the evolution of the country in tandem with the evolution of the media there.

 

Mohamed places media at the core of structuration of the present relationships and power structures in the South American country. In part one, she delves into now declassified documents from the British Colonial Office and the notes of two past Guyanese presidents to examine the media’s role in the political outcomes and trajectory of Guyana.
